Sustainability Appraisal (SA) is a key part of the plan making process. SA examines how the plan would impact on a range of economic, social and environmental issues using defined criteria. It is carried out alongside plan making so the results of the assessment can be taken into account.
Shropshire's emerging Local Development Framework (LDF) is subject to SA. This work has included SA on the adopted Core Strategy, and ongoing SA work on the Site Allocations and Management of Development document (SAMDev).
In order to provide a robust basis for developing work on the SA a Sustainability Appraisal (SA) Scoping Report was prepared and consulted on in July 2008.
