Sustainability Appraisal

Sustainability Appraisal (SA) is a key part of the plan making process. SA examines how the plan would impact on a range of economic, social and environmental issues using defined criteria. It is carried out alongside plan making so the results of the assessment can be taken into account.

Shropshire's emerging Local Development Framework (LDF) is subject to SA. In order to provide a robust basis for developing work on the SA a Sustainability Appraisal (SA) Scoping Report was prepared and consulted on in July 2008. The Scoping Report provided the framework by which to assess all aspects of the LDF process. To download a copy of the SA Scoping Report follow the link below.
