The Planning Policy service is responsible for the preparation of the Shropshire wide Local Development Framework (LDF), and will contribute towards the development of wider policy areas such as housing, the economy, transport and the environment.

Site Allocations and Management of Development DPD (SAMDev)
Shropshire Council consulted on the Issues and Options stage of the Site Allocations and Management of Development DPD (SAMDev) in Summer 2010. Responses have been considered and contact has been made with local Parish and Town Councils to clarify the community vision for the future of settlements and the types and levels of growth and locations for development that may be acceptable.
The next opportunity for the public to have their say on proposals will be in January 2012 as part of a 'Preferred Options' consultation. Follow the link on the left hand side for more information on the SAMDev document.
Neighbourhood Planning
Five Shropshire communities have been selected by the Government to be amongst the first in the country to develop new style Neighbourhood Plans. Shropshire Council will be assisting these communities as they prepare their plans. See the link to Neighbourhood Planning in Shropshire at the bottom of this page for more information.
Consultation - Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Canal Supplementary Planning Document (SPD)
The Council are currently consulting on a draft SPD for the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Canal World Heritage Site. This is a joint document with Wrexham Borough Council and Denbighshire County Council. Follow the link on the left hand side of this page for more information.
