What is the Interim Community Involvement Statement?
The Interim Community Involvement Statement (ICIS) outlines how and when the Planning Policy Service will involve the public and other key stakeholders in the preparation of planning documents for the new Shropshire Council. This is an important document as it will act as a guide for consultation and engagement activities during the preparation of early stages of the council's Local Development Framework (LDF).
A draft version of the Interim Community Involvement Statement was consulted on during June 2008. Following revisions made in the light of comments received, the ICIS was formally agreed by the Implementation Executive (IE) on 10th September 2008.
Shropshire Council will begin work on a fully revised Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) soon. This full revision will broaden the scope of the document to include information on how the council consults the public on planning applications as well as planning policy documents.
