Submitting a local land charge search

To submit a local land charge search you will need to complete the appropriate forms. The LLC1 and Con29(R) and Con29(O) forms can be obtained from legal stationers, or you can download a combined local land charges search form by following the link on this page entitled 'combined search form'.

If you only require a part of the Con29(R) then please follow the link on this page entitled part Con29(R) form.

The form must be completed and a location plan highlighting the property and/or area to be searched should be submitted to Shropshire Council.

You can find a map of your property using our on-line mapping system, from which it is possible to print a map at a scale of ideally 1:1250 to submit with your search form. Please follow the link on this page to Local View.

There are three ways to submit your search:

  • Email your search - send the completed form and plan to: land.charges@shropshire.gov.uk and telephone the Local Land Charges department on 01743 252609 to arrange payment by debit/credit card. Alternatively, you can now use the on-line payment facility by using the link entitled Make an On-line Payment Now
  • Post your application - post your application and cheque to: Shropshire Council, Local Land Charges, Shirehall, Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury SY2 6ND. You can also use the DX system and send it to DX702024, Shrewsbury 2. Please make cheques payable to Shropshire Council.
  • NLIS - National Land Information Service -This service allows for registered users to submit searches and receive completed searches electronically. Shropshire Council offers a Level 3 service. More information regarding service levels can be obtained from the National Land Information Service by following the link on this page.To submit a search using the NLIS service please follow the link on this page.
