Background
The Independent Policy Commission on Primary School Organisation in Shropshire policy has investigated how to secure a sustainable network of schools in the county, by considering the many issues surrounding education in Shropshire.
A team of highly-respected independent experts, chaired by Neil Kinghan, considered educational, financial, social, community and environmental issues.
A hugely important part of the process involved listening to your views – and people were invited to send their comments and detailed submissions to the policy commission.
A series of hearings were held across the county in November, December and January for the commission to listen to people’s views. A final report was presented to a cross-party reference group in July 2009.
