The Asset Management and Estates Teams manage the council’s property portfolio under the following headings;

Valuation and Property Management

Our estates surveyors give advice to the council on all property and estates management issues, including properties for sale & to let. If you are looking for council land, or property to buy, we are the team to contact.

Business and Light Industrial Units

If you want somewhere from which to run a small business, we manage and let small units on estates around the county.

Gypsy Liaison

Want to know about services available to gypsies? We are responsible for the day-to-day management of the three gypsy sites in Shropshire, a fourth being lease to private management.

Smallholdings

We manage a small number of smallholdings and cottages, which, together with grazing land, totals approximately 624 hectares (approximately 1542 acres).

Property Information

We manage property data and land ownership records and can tell you if we own land.

Property Review

We review property which helps achieve our aims and objectives.

Rating

We have a specialist rating surveyor who actively negotiates with the district valuers to keep council rates bills to a minimum.

Planning

Our estates surveyor/planner submits planning applications on behalf of the council, and provides advice on planning issues.
