This approval is to allow for the solemnisation of civil marriages, civil partnerships, civil reaffirmation of marriage vows and civil naming ceremonies at the approved venue. The approval is valid for three years.

It is important that you contact the registration service prior to the submission of the application form to discuss the potential application.

A fee is payable for the application, which is not refundable in the event of an unsuccessful application.

Fees

From 1 April 2011 to 31 March 2012 fees will be as follows:

• First time application (including up to 2 rooms): £1475
• Application for the renewal of approval (including up to 2 rooms): £1475
• Addition of extra rooms to an existing approval (per room): £200
• Approval of an additional building within the curtilage: £650
• Site visits: £100
• Clerical amendments to existing approval i.e. new responsible person: £25
• Appeal against revocation or refusal to issue approval: £1,000
