Whether it be to record a birth, a marriage or a death, the registrars located around Shropshire are there to help us with the legal necessities.
Although registration officers will make every effort to see people who turn up without appointments, there are no guarantees that they will be seen in less than an hour as appointments take priority.
You can request an appointment with a registrar to register a birth or death, or to arrange a marriage or a civil partnership, by telephoning 0345 678 9016 (via Customer Service Centre) or by using our electronic appointment booking system, by following the link below.
If you need to contact the service out of hours or during a notified closure period, in the event of an emergency, in particular in the circumstances highlighted below:
- Emergency death registrations for those with particular cultural or religious beliefs - please contact your funeral director;
- Registrar General’s Licence for Marriage or Civil Partnership (where one party is seriously ill and not expected to recover) - please contact your GP, Hospital Administrator or Chaplain.
