Shropshire Schools for Health Celebration of Success Event, July 2008

Over 100 staff, pupils, parents, governors and invited guests celebrated at the Celebration of Success, on Tuesday 1st July 2008, in the Council Chamber, Shirehall, Shrewsbury.

Carol Tiddy, Acting Corporate Director for Children and Young People’s Services, in her opening speech, congratulated the Healthy Schools on their achievements.

To mark this celebration, the audience took part in an interactive voting Healthy Quiz covering the four themes of PSHE, Healthy Eating, PE and School Sport, including physical activity, and Emotional Health and Well Being. Members of the Shropshire Schools for Health Partnership gave the key ‘health’ messages relating to each question. Great fun was had by all!

Twenty four schools received their celebration wooden plaques from Trish Smith, School Nurse Co-ordinator, Shropshire County Primary Care Trust.

Janet Graham, Assistant Director for Multi-Agency and Prevention, Children and Young People’s Services closed the event by thanking everyone involved. She talked about the excellent support for the schools from the Shropshire Schools for Health Partnership and the hard work done by whole school communities to achieve full National Healthy School Status.
