The decision to move your child from one school to another should never be taken lightly. A settled school placement throughout the primary or secondary phase is important.
If your child is having difficulties or you are considering a transfer for other reasons, please discuss issues with your child's Headteacher before making a decision.
Moves in Year 10 or 11 cause particular difficulties as it is unlikely that your child's chosen GCSE course can be matched at a different school.
If you are moving house within Shropshire and want your child to stay at the same school, they can, although if previously entitled to transport this may cease, especially if you move outside the catchment area. To look at catchment area maps please follow the link to ShropMap.
If you move and want your child to change schools, please contact the school you want them to move to and talk to them about it. Providing the school has places available in your child's appropriate year group it should be possible to offer you a place.
However, if the school does not have places available in your child's year group and there is another suitable school in the area, please try there. We can offer advice on schools with spare places. If you cannot get a place for your child in your preferred school, you will need to go though the appeals procedure
