Transferring from infant to junior school in Shropshire

Is your child in Year 2 at infant school?

They will transfer to junior school in September 2009.

You will have to apply for your child to transfer to junior school before 16 January 2009. Please ensure you apply on time to try and avoid disappointment.

How do you apply?

  • you can apply on-line - follow the link under useful websites on this webpage
  • your child's infant school should provide you with an application form or
  • you can down load the primary infant school application form from this webpage
  • ask for a copy of the Parents' Guide to Education in Shropshire
  • contact the admission team

We strongly advise that you read The Parents' Guide to Education in Shropshire carefully before making an application for a school. This booklet is available from the link on this page, from your child's school or from the Admissions Team.

Applicants who live outside the catchment area for a junior school cannot be guaranteed a place for their child even though the child may have attended the “linked” infant school. The admissions criteria are the same as those for all infant and primary schools. Please follow link to see admissions criteria.
