Free School Meals are a statutory benefit. It is the duty of Shropshire Council's Children and Young People's Services to provide a meal for those pupils who are eligible for free school meals and who attend a Shropshire LA school.
Many Shropshire schools operate a cashless card system, this means pupils receiving free school meals will remain completely anonymous.
Schools with 6th Forms and some Colleges also offer free meals to students who receive a benefit in their own right, up to the age of 19 years.
If your son or daughter attends a College within the Shropshire LA area, or if you attend a College and claim benefit in your own right, please contact the College direct.
