The closing date for applications was 31 October 2011.

Letters advising you which school your child has been allocated will be sent, second class on 1 March 2012. 1 March is a national offer date. If you have applied online then you will be able to access your online application from midnight the day after letters are posted (2 March).

If you have not yet applied for a school place, please contact the School Admissions Team as soon as possible.

It is very important that you read The Parents' Guide to Education in Shropshire. See 'Online services and attachments' for a copy of this document.

Important information regarding Wakeman School

Shropshire Council’s Cabinet has made the decision to close Wakeman School in July 2013. This decision means that the school will not be receiving Year 7 pupils in the autumn term 2012.

For further advice on this matter or any assistance in making application for transfer to secondary school, please contact a member of the Admissions Team on 0345 678 9008.

An attachment on this page shows how secondary school places were allocated in Shropshire schools for September 2011. As an Admission Authority we try to offer as many first preference places as possible. Of the secondary applications received on time for 2011, 93.6 per cent received their first preference school. The national average was 84.6 per cent. The applicants who were not successful were mainly those who lived outside the school’s catchment area or those who applied late.
