Admission arrangements for Shropshire local authority maintained schools 2012/13
In accordance with the requirements of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 and additional requirements under the Education and Skills Act 2008, Shropshire Council, as the admission authority for all of its community and controlled schools has a duty to consult on changes to admission arrangements.
For 2012/13 the only proposed changes were to admission numbers for a small number of schools. All other admission arrangements remain unchanged and are attached below.
This consultation took place for a period of 8 weeks from 20 December 2010 until 18 February 2011.
During the consultation period comments were received opposing some of the proposed increases to admission numbers. These responses were considered by the Local Admissions Forum in the context of Shropshire Council’s School Organisation process and, as a result, some of the proposed increases to admission numbers were not recommended to Cabinet.
The Local Admission Forum’s recommendations were considered and agreed by Shropshire Council Cabinet at a meeting on Wednesday 13 April 2011 thereby determining Shropshire Council’s admission arrangements. The admission arrangements remain unchanged from those determined in April 2010 except for changes to admission numbers as detailed below:
- Cressage, Christ Church CE Primary school: Existing Admission Number 20, Proposed Admission Number 15, Difference -5
- Dorrington CE (Aided) Primary School: Existing Admission Number 12, Proposed Admission Number 8, Difference -4
- Radbrook Primary School: Existing Admission Number 42, Proposed Admission Number 45, Difference +3
- Westbury St Mary’s CE (Aided) Primary School: Existing Admission Number 16, Proposed Admission Number 12, Difference -4
