A new head teacher has been appointed to lead The Marches School and Technology College into the future.
Sarah Longville will be in post at the Oswestry secondary school from September this year.
Arthur Walpole, Chair of Governors, said: “The Governing Body is delighted to announce that Sarah Longville has been appointed as our new head teacher from September 2009.
“We feel certain that she has the necessary drive, determination and experience to lead our school community.
“Sarah believes in creating a positive atmosphere and culture for students to develop and excel in and I am sure that pupils, parents and everyone involved with the school will understand why we have appointed her once they have had the opportunity to meet her.”
Sarah has been working as a well established member of the senior management team at a school in Herefordshire as Deputy Principal and Head of School for the last four years.
She has also previously worked at The Marches School and Technology College in the curriculum area of Humanities.
Sarah said: "I feel honoured and privileged to be given the opportunity to lead The Marches School and Technology College in its next phase of development.
“The school is a vibrant and exciting learning community and I am greatly looking forward to working with both a professional body of staff and the enthusiastic young learners."
Sarah replaces Graham Davies who moved on to a new position at the end of last year after six years as head teacher at the school. Jan Glover is the current acting head teacher.
