What we can do for you
We coordinate the provision of learning and training opportunities for people that deliver social care and health services in Shropshire. This includes people working for Shropshire Council, Health, Housing, as well as people who work for private and voluntary care homes and employers.
Why is it important?
Learning opportunities in Social Care are important because:
- social care and health is the third biggest employer in Shropshire
- over three quarters of the social care services in Shropshire are delivered by people who work for private care employers
- everybody that provides direct care services must meet the training and qualification standards set out by the National Care Standards Commission Regulations and Standards.
To find out more about learning and training opportunities please follow the link on the left hand side. The Social Care and Health training brochure can be downloaded from this page, please click on the link below.
Care Workforce Development Partnership
This is an important partnership for private and voluntary care employers and people who work for them. It coordinates funding from different sources to support free access to training, e.g., Diplomas in Health and Social Care, Registered Managers Awards and Assessor training.
