What we can do for you
We co-ordinate the provision of learning and training opportunities for people that deliver social care and health services in Shropshire. This includes people working for Shropshire County Council, Health, Housing, as well as people who work for private and voluntary care homes and employers.

Why is it important?
Learning opportunities in Social Care are important because:

  • social care and health is the third biggest employer in Shropshire
  • over three quarters of the social care services in Shropshire are delivered by people who work for private care employers
  • everybody that provides direct care services must meet the training and qualification standards set out in the relevant National Minimum Standards for Care

Care Workforce Development Partnership
This is an important partnership for private and voluntary care employers and people who work for them. It co-ordinates funding from different sources to support free access to training, e.g., National Vocational Qualifications in care, Registered Managers Awards and Assessor training.
