Shropshire Council

Why choose Shropshire Council?

Shropshire Graduates will join a forward-thinking and progressive local authority. Graduates will be placed at the forefront of our programme of change and encourage their development as young professionals.

In addition to being allocated a senior manager within the organisation as a mentor, Shropshire Graduates also have the opportunity to participate in training activities which will enhance leadership credentials.

The programme is designed to give graduates practical experience whilst making a key contribution to Shropshire Council’s transformation. Throughout your time with us, you'll be innovating, engaging with both internal and external stakeholders and making key decisions about the future of our local communities.

Alongside your placements, you'll also undertake a series of challenging graduate projects with members of your cohort. These projects are designed to improve your project management skills, and test your ability to work as part of a team towards key outcomes.

Whilst on the two year programme, successful candidates will receive a competitive salary.

Candidates will also receive 25 days annual leave a year and be entitled to a staff benefits package, which currently includes an excellent local government pension scheme, flexible working and staff discount scheme.
