Respite care - support to carers taking a break

Social Care is able to arrange for respite care or, if this is not appropriate, for help provided directly to the carer.

You should be given information about the ways in which you can take a break and should be advised on the placements available to the person you care for. e.g. Crossroads, day centres, residential and respite care as appropriate. We will discuss the type of help that will be of most benefit to you.

You can expect us to provide as flexible a service as possible to ensure that the person you care for is looked after with as little disruption as possible when you need to take a break.
