Maps for planning and building control
Shropshire County Council can supply maps for planning and building control applications through Shropshire Archives.
Maps cost £22.50 and this must be paid in full before the order can be processed. Under terms of the licence we will supply 6 copies of the map to you. Generally, if you are submitting maps for a planning application, the Local Authority will request 5 copies of the map.
You can order maps in the following ways:
- complete the on-line form and pay, using our secure site, by credit or debit card
- print and complete the attached publication 'maps-for-planning-order-form' (PDF) and post or fax it to us with a cheque made out in pounds sterling to ‘Shropshire County Council’.
- visit Shropshire Archives, fill out the form and pay for the maps in person.
You can collect the maps from Shropshire Archives or, for an additional £2.50, we can post them out to you. You can place up to 5 orders at any one time and these can all be sent out for the £2.50 postage/handling fee.
Please put as much detail as possible on the form. If you are not able to supply the six figure grid reference, please give a post code as well as a detailed description of the site location.
You will need to specify the scale of the maps
- location plans (for rural areas) at 1:2500
- location plans (for urban areas, showing greater detail) at 1:1250
- block plans at 1:500
If you are not sure of the scale, or the Local Authority has not specified, please let us know and we will advise on the most suitable scale for the area you require.
On all orders, please give a telephone number so that we can contact you if there are any queries and to let you know when the maps are ready to collect. We guarantee to supply all maps within 7 working days of receiving the order.
