Elections for the new Shropshire Council will take place on 4 June 2009.

General information about voting and elections
Shropshire residents aged 18 and over are entitled to vote in elections for:
- Members of the European Parliament (MEPs)
- Members of Parliament (MPs)
- County Councillors
- District/Borough Councillors
- Parish/Town Councillors
Registering to vote
If you are not on the Register of Electors you cannot vote. It is not compulsory to vote but it is compulsory to register. To join the register you will need to contact your local district/borough council. Their contact details can be found by following the Shropshire Portal link on this page.
