Adaptations to your home

Social Care can suggest practical solutions to improve your quality of life and this can include changes to your home to allow you to be more independent or to help your carer assist you.
Adaptations range from simple hand rails to major structural alterations to the home.

Minor adaptations
You can apply to Social Care for minor adaptations, for example hand rails for the bathroom. Eligibility for this service will be subject to a very simple financial assessment.
If the applicant has over £8000.00 capital then they are not eligible for these services and will need to fund and organise the work to be done themselves. Please note applicants with more than £8000.00 capital can still receive an assessment and advice on adaptations from Social Care.
