Evidence Base for the Local Development Framework
Evidence Base
A wide range of evidence will need to be considered as a new Local Development Framework is prepared for Shropshire Council. This evidence comes from a variety of sources at the national, regional and local levels, and is crucially important in influencing the preparation of individual planning policies.
Topic Papers - Evidence Base
In outlining a series of key planning issues facing Shropshire, the Topic Papers have already begun to use a wide range of evidence from a number of sources. This includes information on housing market areas, retail and tourism studies and employment land surveys.
The following evidence base documents are included here. To view these documents follow the appropriate attachment or link on this page.
- Strategic Housing Market Assessment (Shropshire and Herefordshire) - Final Report June 2008.
- Retail Studies for each district (except North Shropshire).
- Employment land studies for each district.
- Annual Monitoring Reports (AMRs) for each district and the former County Council.
- Strategic Flood Risk Assessments (SFRA) for each district.
- Shopshire's Community Strategy (produced by the Shropshire Partnership).
- Gypsy and Travellers Assessment - July 2008.
- The Shropshire Local Transport Plan.
- Shrewsbury Transport Study
As further progress is made on the Core Strategy and other documents for the Local Development Framework, this evidence base will expand to ensure the strategic 'options' chosen and individual policies prepared are the most appropriate for Shropshire. This further evidence will include:
- Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA) for Shropshire - expected late 2008
- Open Space Survey for Shropshire - expected late 2008
