Leisure Service

Welcome to Shropshire Council Leisure Service. Our aim is to encourage and support participation in a wide range of sports and recreational activities. We want to make it easier for people to play sport and to nurture and support sporting excellence where appropriate. As well as providing a wide range of services, we also work closely with Energize Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, the County Sports Partnership to try to help more people to be more active.

On these pages you can find information about Shropshire's leisure centres and the facilities they have. You may qualify for discounted admission to these centres, please see the Passport to Leisure page for more details. Alternatively, you may be entitled to swim for free at our swimming pools. Go to the Free Swimming page to see if you are eligible.

You will also find information about things for young people to do in the school holidays and after school, and also about play activities in the Activities for Children section.

In addition to the many sport and leisure facilities, there are over 400 sports clubs in Shropshire. Please go to the Find a Sports Club page to find out about the Energize Club Directory, a database with details of these clubs and those in the Telford and Wrekin area.

We can also help you be a sports coach and identify volunteering opportunities. We may also be able to offer assistance to your sports club in the form of grants.
