Shropshire Council is continuing to fund the webcams originally installed by Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council and Bridgnorth District Council.
There are four webcams in Shrewsbury, and one webcam situated in Bridgnorth, overlooking the bridge between High Town and Low Town.
These webcams allow local residents, ex pats and tourists to view images primarily of the river Severn in both Bridgnorth and Shrewsbury through a live weblink, with images updated every few minutes.
The webcams also provide a valuable resource for fishermen to see river levels at any moment in time as well as being a key tool for monitoring the river in times of flooding.
It is hoped that the webcams will encourage further tourist activity to Shropshire and more may be installed in different areas of the county in the future.
