The Broadplaces are there for everyone, whatever your age, ability or interest.
The informal nature of drop-in sessions has made them very popular with those new to IT, and the community focus has encouraged new groups such as family history and digital photography clubs to flourish.
For young people who don't have access to broadband at home, a number of Broadplaces run homework clubs after school.
Opportunities for community groups
The Broadplaces are fully equipped for presentations, training and talks. If your community group needs to design and print posters, there is a range of software available. Many have a digital video camera if you are looking to make a film about your work.
Equipment can be loaned to community groups, either for a donation or in return for support with sessions. Contact your local Broadplace to see what is available.
Volunteering
There are currently over 300 volunteers who support the Broadplaces. You do not need to be a computer expert to get involved, just know a bit more than someone who knows nothing! There are lots of ways that you can get involved. The link on this page will give you more information.
