Directions to Shropshire County Council
The Shirehall in Shrewsbury is the largest office building used by Shropshire County Council. The council also has other offices around the county. Details of how to get to Shirehall are given below, alternatively you can print the leaflets attached to this page. Visiting Shirehall
Shropshire County Council has a commitment through it Shirehall Travel Pan to encourage more sustainable travel. Please consider using public transport, cycling, walking or car sharing to reach us. Visitors are asked to report to main reception on arrival.

By foot / bicycle
Shirehall is easily accessible by bicycle or on foot. If you need help planning your cycle route to the Shirehall call Transport Planning on 01743 253035 or follow the link on this page to Travelwise. Covered parking for cycles, motorcycles and scooters is sited in the short-stay car park.

Meetings and events
Anyone arranging a meeting or event at Shirehall should encourage visitors to car share or use other means of transport if at all possible. Please warn them that parking may not be available to them, especially at peak times.

People with disabilities
Shirehall offers good access for those who are mobility impaired. The main and north entrances have ramp wheelchair access. There are disabled toilets on the ground floor and lifts that access all floors. Disabled parking spaces are situated at the front of Shirehall. Cars may be parked at the base of the Column on the white paviors or at the base of the ramp by prior arrangement with Main Reception (01743 252873).

By car
Please note that car parking at Shirehall is limited. We recommend that you use alternatives to the car whenever possible. If your business will last one hour or less, please use the short stay car park, if your meeting will last longer than an hour please use the Visitors car park. If you are mobility impaired, there are spaces available with ramp access to the building, please ring Main Reception prior to your visit 01743 252873.

Wheelclamping
Along with signs and patrols by car park security officers, contractors will be engaged to clamp cars parked incorrectly. This will include cars left for more than an hour in the Short Stay car park and any cars parked in the incorrect designated area. The fee for removal of the clamp will be £50.

By train
Shirehall is 2km from Shrewsbury railway station. For train times follow the link on this page to travel information. The taxi rank is outside the main entrance to the station. The journey by taxi will take approximately 5 minutes. Walking from the station will take about 30 mins, cycling 10 mins. A bus will take you 8 mins. Cross the station car park heading towards the traffic lights. Cross the road at the pelican crossing into Smithfield Road (A488). The bus station is on the left approximately 250 metres along this road.

Connections to Shirehall: The connecting service No.8 (destination Sutton Farm) leaves Shrewsbury bus station, Stand C every 15 minutes (at 00, 15, 30 and 45 minutes past the hour). The bus stop is right outside the front of the Shirehall (by the Lord Hill Column). The journey takes 8 minutes. On your return, the bus stop is opposite Shirehall.
