Shropshire County Council awards and achievements

Best councils to work for award - In The Times list of the 'Best Councils to Work for' in the country, Shropshire County Council has been rated as one of the top 20 best councils to work for, and first among participating County Councils.

Officially excellent - four star council - The local government watchdog The Audit Commission has rated Shropshire County Council a 'four star' council, that is 'improving strongly'. Beacon authority - The Beacon scheme is government recognition that a local authority is providing excellent and innovative services. Shropshire County Council has been awarded Beacon authority status in four areas: services for older people, sustainable energy, early intervention to protect children at risk, helping rural communities to improve services.
