Daisy the Cow to visit Longmeadow Primary

Daisy the Cow, the Moo Milk mascot, will be visiting Longmeadow (CE) Primary School in Bayston Hill between 12.00pm and 1.00pm next Monday (21 January) to give away milkshakes and stickers to children eating lunch at the school.

And to mark Daisy’s visit, a special lunch menu will also be served that day.

The special ‘Mini Moo’ menu offers a choice of Thai pork with noodles; organic fish cake; vegetable curry with noodles; cheese and red onion quiche, or quiche lorraine, all served with peas, carrots and broccoli. For pudding there will be a choice of apple and pineapple crumble with custard, home-made cookies, fruit salad or yoghurt.

Bill Campbell, Operations Manager with Shropshire County Council’s school meals service, said: “We’re delighted that Daisy will be visiting Longmeadow school on Monday. Her visit is a great way to encourage children to drink milk, and to enjoy the special lunch menu that we’re serving to mark her visit.”

Longmeadow (CE) Primary School is one of three Shropshire schools selected as Flagship Schools for the Soil Association’s Food For Life Partnership - a Lottery-funded initiative to transform food awareness in schools.

On Monday the School will also be holding a special meeting to discuss the next stage of the Food for Life project. Members of the Soil Association’s Food for Life team, including author and celebrity school cook Jeanette Orrey, will be attending.
