Shropshire Cycle Forum summer meeting

Press release - 11 June 2007

Members of the Shropshire Cycle Forum will be holding their summer meeting at Shirehall in Shrewsbury on Wednesday 13 June at 7pm.

At the evening meeting, hosted by Shropshire County Council, there will be opportunities to discuss a wide range of cycling issues.

This includes a presentation from Shrewsbury & Atcham Borough Council on how cycle use can be promoted through the local planning process.

Members of the forum will also discuss ways to encourage more cycling to tourist attractions, opportunities to provide low cost facilities and forthcoming cycle events.

Existing members include local cyclists and representatives from cycling and environmental groups, as well as councillors and council officers from Shropshire County Council, district councils and Telford & Wrekin Council.

Alison Kennedy, Shropshire County Council’s transport planner, said: “The Shropshire Cycle Forum is open to anyone with an interest in cycling in the county, please come along to find out more.”
