Young people with Special Educational Needs today took part in the Shropshire final of the Consumer Challenge Quiz 2007, organised by Shropshire County Council's Trading Standards Service.

The Consumer Challenge Quiz aims to help raise awareness of consumer issues in a fun and interactive way. Students from four schools across Shropshire competed at Shirehall to win the title of Consumer Challenge winners for Shropshire. The victorious team were from The Priory School, a Business & Enterprise College, Shrewsbury. They will now go on to battle it out with other teams in the national finals in June 2008.

John Hurst-Knight, Shropshire County Council's Cabinet member for economy, said: “We had a fantastic day today at the Consumer Challenge Quiz. Well done to The Priory, but also to all of the other schools that have taken part this year. We believe that the Consumer Challenge Quiz is an excellent way for young people to learn important life skills.”
