Sewer repair works to start on Harlescott crossroads

Works to repair a flooded sewer underneath Harlescott crossroads will start next week (Monday 4 February).

The works, to be carried out by Severn Trent Water, will take around eight weeks to complete.

For these repairs to be carried out safely, Featherbed Lane (at its junction with Whitchurch Road) will be closed and there will be 'no right turn' from Harlescott Lane onto Whitchurch Road.

It is expected that Featherbed Lane will need to be closed for three weeks and the no right turn from Harlescott Lane will be in operation for eight weeks, however these may change depending on progress.

There will also be a 20mph speed limit on all approaches to the crossroads.

Whilst these sections of road are closed, traffic will be diverted:

  • For Featherbed Lane – A5112 Battlefield Road, Arlington Way and vice versa.
  • For Whitchurch Road (there will be no right turn from Harlescott Lane) – A5112 Battlefield Road, Battlefield roundabout and back onto A5112 Battlefield Road.
