Stottesdon pupil wins prize in national schools competition

A pupil at Stottesdon CE Primary School has won third prize in a national schools competition held to mark British Sausage Week 2007, which ran from 15 to 21 October.

Richard Pierce, aged 6, came third in the competition for Key Stage 1 pupils, for which children were asked to colour in Mr Sausage’s 10th birthday cake.

Richard has won a shopping voucher of his choice to the value of £25, a Brunel MS1 Stereo Microscope for the school, and £25 to donate to the local branch of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Bill Campbell from Shropshire County Council’s school meals service will present Richard with his prizes at school next Thursday (31 January). Richard will then present a cheque to Martine Grainger from the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

More than 20,000 children from primary schools across the UK entered the competition, in which there were two categories – one for Key Stage 1 children, and one for Key Stage 2 children.

Richard’s winning entry - along with the other winning entries - can be viewed on the website link attached.
