Press release - 4 June 2007
Ellesmere Dog Show - arranged by Shropshire County Council and Greenfields Greyhound Rescue - will now take place on Sunday 22 July at 12 noon in Cremorne Gardens.
The event is being held in aid of the Greenfields Greyhound Rescue who specialise in the rehoming of ex-racing greyhounds and other sighthounds in Staffordshire, Cheshire, Shropshire, North Wales and Flintshire areas. They rely on the support of volunteers and donations of the public to be able to rescue and rehome the dogs.
Lynne Dean Assistant Countryside Ranger for Shropshire County Council said: “We have changed the date as unfortunately it clashed with another dog show taking place. The Ellesmere dog show will be a really fun day out for all. There will be the usual classes but also it will be opportunity to promote responsible dog ownership and the physical and mental well being of owning a dog."
