Another opportunity to see and buy a range of soft furnishings produced by service users from an Oswestry social care centre will take place at the Memorial Hall, Red Square, Oswestry on Wednesday 5 December.
Patchworks in Oswestry will be displaying a range of products including duvets, throws and cushions all of which are handmade, at the Memorial Hall between 10.00am and 2.00pm.
The unit based at Radfords Fields, Maesbury Road is operated by Shropshire County Council, and provides employment and work experience for adults with learning disabilities.
Phil Day, Locality Manager at Patchworks said: “We will be selling a wide range of products including bags and aprons as well as soft furnishings. These will make great gifts for families and friends for Christmas.”
Councillor Barbara Craig, Cabinet member for community services, said: “Patchworks are dedicated in providing people with the skills and confidence for work experience and employment, and help to provide a value for money service for the community.”
Additional information
Patchworks provides a safe environment for adults with learning disabilities to acquire employment and work experience through skills training. People attend college, receiving vocational and leisure training with an emphasis on creative activities and work skills.
The unit produces patchwork throwovers, duvet covers and cushions, which can be individually tailored to the customers requirements. Patchworks sell on-site and in shops and encourage and attain high standards.
