Shropshire’s councils and emergency services have issued advice to local residents to ensure they stay safe during the current spell of bad weather.
The heavy rain is predicted to continue to fall over the next twenty four hours, with south Shropshire and the Bridgnorth area thought to be most at risk.
Shropshire County Council, Shropshire’s district and borough councils and the police, fire and ambulance services are on standby to help residents who may be affected by the rain over the weekend.
The advice issued to residents is:
· Keep safe.
· Keep a mobile phone, torch and essential medication upstairs.
· Call 999 if you are in need of help.
· Listen to your local radio station for the latest information.
· Drive carefully on wet roads and make essential journeys only.
· If you are driving, obey any road closure signs.
· Look out for vulnerable or elderly friends or neighbours.
