Shop in the Loop with free Park & Ride

Visitors to Shrewsbury will be able to 'Shop in the Loop' with free Park & Ride on Saturday 31 May 2008.

This free offer coincides with a special ‘Shop in the Loop’ event being organised by the town centre traders, Shropshire County Council and Shrewsbury & Atcham Borough Council to encourage people into the town.

The event will include various acts such as magic, balloon modelling, music, face painting and many more.

The town’s Park & Ride sites are located at Meole Brace Retail Park, Harlescott Tesco and Oxon Business Park. Low floor buses will operate from 8am until 6.20pm every 10 minutes, with the last bus leaving the town centre at 6.30pm.

John Everall, Shropshire County Council’s Cabinet member for environment and sustainability, said: “Park & Ride provides an excellent, value for money way for people to visit the historic centre of Shrewsbury. We would very much encourage people to try out the service for free and I’m sure more people will see the great advantage of using this service in the future.”
