Press release - 26 September 2007
The final phase of a scheme to improve the A528 between Ellesmere Road Roundabout and Broadoak is set to start early next month (Monday 8 October).
The works, to take place over five weeks, will involve drainage improvements, kerbing, resurfacing and improvements to the road markings.
To enable the works to be carried out safely, temporary traffic control will be in place. Drivers will also be asked to keep speeds to a minimum to help safeguard the workforce and road users.
Dave Mansfield, Shropshire County Council’s highway technician, said: “I’d like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience these works may cause, however I do hope that people will understand that this is an important and essential scheme.
“We will do all we can to keep disruption to a minimum.”
Supervision of the works will be undertaken by Shropshire County Council’s consultants, Mouchel Parkman.
The County Council’s contractors, JDM Accord will be carrying out these works.
These works follow an initial phase to improve the A528 from Broadoak to Albrighton.
