The Ludlow Museum Resource Centre will look at depictions of the Christmas Story with Janie Jones, a freelance lecturer at The National Gallery, on Monday 17 December between 2.00pm and 4.00pm.
Slides of masterpieces from Duccio to Dolci will demonstrate a variety of styles and techniques across the centuries. Participants will discover the tenderness of Piero della Francesca, savour the colours of Gossaert and see how the Christmas Story has inspired some of the greatest artists of all time.
Sarah Griffiths, Shropshire County Council’s Museum Education Officer, said: “The interactive talk promises to be a perfect way to get ready for the Christmas season; an inspiring and joyous afternoon that will round off with tea and mince pies.”
The cost is £6 and a place can be booked by phoning Ludlow Museum Resource Centre on 01584 813665 or by picking up a booking form at Ludlow Library.
