Press release - 19 June 2007

A528 improvement work

Temporary traffic controls will be in place on the A528 north of Shrewsbury from next Monday (25 June) for four weeks while work to repair and improve the road is carried out.

The work will begin just south of the Albright Hussey Hotel and continue northwards to Albrighton church. It will involve carriageway resurfacing, high-friction surface treatment, improvements to the carriageway markings, and the addition of new traffic signs.

Temporary traffic signals or stop/go boards will be in operation while the work is carried out.

Gary Parton, Shropshire County Council’s co-ordination manager for the central division, said: "Signing and lining works have been incorporated with the resurfacing of a worn out surface, and the addition of high friction safety surfacing. We hope users of the road will understand that this is necessary work, and that every effort will be made to keep disruption to a minimum.”
