Parking on the agenda at Broseley and Barrow meeting

People will be able to have their say about parking restrictions in the area when the Action: Broseley and Barrow local joint committee meets on Thursday 19 June at Victoria Hall in Broseley. The meeting starts at 7.00pm and all local residents in the area are invited to attend.

Other items due to be discussed are the redevelopment of William Brookes school and applications for funding from the new Broseley and Barrow opportunities fund.

Jean Jones, Shropshire County Councillor for Broseley, who chairs the committee, said: “The meeting will give people in area another chance to meet with their local councillors, get involved in decisions affecting their community and have their say about important local issues. They will also be able put forward ideas and suggestions about how the committee could spend its budget of £20,000 to help benefit the area. I hope as many people as possible will come along.”

At the last meeting, held on 1 April at Willey & District Village Hall, the committee agreed to spend money on the paved area at Wilkinson Avenue Residents’ Association, Broseley in Bloom flowers and planters, the Broseley and Much Wenlock Homing Society and Let's Get Together.

Action: Broseley and Barrow is one of eleven local committee pilots that are now meeting regularly across Shropshire. The committee is made up of local county, district, town and parish councillors.

This will be the sixth time that the committee has met, since it was set up in May 2007.
