Have your say with the Childcare Sufficiency Assessment

The first county wide consultation about childcare provision is to take place and Shropshire County Council would like you to be a part of it. If you are a parent, carer, young person, parent of a child with disabilities or if you are an employer experiencing staffing issues because of a lack of childcare in your area then we would like to hear from you.

Every local authority throughout the UK has been tasked with carrying out a Childcare Sufficiency Assessment. The assessment is a ‘tool’ that will help us gauge the level of childcare provision available to meet your needs and to identify any ‘gaps’ in provision, for example a lack of day care centres, pre-schools or young peoples groups and clubs in your area. The information that we gather will help us plan improvements in provision over the coming years.

If you have had difficulties in finding childcare to meet your needs, or you feel that you pay too much for childcare, or you feel that there are not enough groups and clubs for young people to access in your locality, now is the time for you to have your say! Help us to meet your communities childcare needs!
