Whitchurch town centre parking restrictions now in force

The signing and lining of the parking restrictions in Whitchurch town centre have now been ratified by the Department for Transport, and as such are now legally enforceable. The signing and lining has been kept to a minimum to reduce the effect on the environment, and therefore needed individual approval.

Until now ParkRight have been unable to enforce these parking restrictions, and have been patrolling mainly outside Whitchurch town centre. From today (Tuesday 22 April) they will be patrolling daily in all areas in Whitchurch.

As this is significant change to the enforcement regime in Whitchurch, Shropshire County Council have instructed ParkRight to issue warning leaflets in place of penalty charge notices for a short initial period in the town centre, to allow the changes to be understood by the local community.
