Over 45 business leaders from across Shropshire have already signed up for Shropshire’s Annual Business Summit.

The summit, hosted by Shropshire County Council, will take place on 1 May 2008 at 5pm at Shrewsbury Town Football Club.

This year’s summit, “Shropshire Business – Global Markets”, will include guest speaker Geoffrey Davies OBE, managing director of McConnels Ludlow. Carolyn Downs, the County Council’s chief executive, and Richard Hutchins, corporate director of Advantage West Midlands, will also be taking questions and contributing to the debate.

Sam Hine, Shropshire County Council’s head of economic regeneration, said: “Last year almost one hundred businesses took part in the summit. It is really important for the County Council to hear at first hand, the issues facing the Shropshire economy. Places are limited and we encourage people to sign up as soon as possible.

“The event provides a fantastic chance for businesses from across the county, of all sizes and from all sectors to have a real dialogue on how together we can seek to strengthen and improve our economy.”

Business people wishing to attend should contact Sam Hine on (01743) 252533 or e-mail businessvision@shropshire.gov.uk.
