Shropshire County Council has confirmed that it is hoping to launch a new demand responsive transport service during November this year.
The service, Shropshire Link, will mean the enhancement of core transport services across the county. It will also provide new low floor vehicles to operate demand responsive services in all rural areas, on a minimum of two days each week.
These demand responsive services will replace and enhance a number of rural services currently subsidised by the County Council.
Details of the new services will be posted to every household in the county during May and June. A series of road shows will also take place across the county for people to find out further information or discuss any public transport issues.
Jonathan Hayes, Shropshire County Council’s principal transport officer, said: "This is a really exciting time for transport users in Shropshire, especially for those living in rural areas who will see many benefits of the Shropshire Link services. I would really encourage people to have a look at the publicity which will be sent out shortly and come and visit the road shows during the summer to find out more about how the services can benefit them."
