A website has been launched to give Shropshire jobhunters a first rate service – making it easy through one website to search and apply for jobs throughout local government in the West Midlands region.
The website - called www.wmjobs.co.uk (link attached) – is a jobs and careers portal launched by a consortium of councils, including Shropshire County Council, across the West Midlands.
The portal, developed by public sector consultants Tribal, is being driven by the West Midlands Local Government Association as a national standard of best practice.
It will contain, in one place, all the vacancies for public sector employers in the West Midlands, including Shropshire County Council and Wolverhampton City Council. Jobhunters will be able to view full job details and fully research employers, as well as being able to register on a ‘talent pool’ that will be searched through by the employers on a regular basis.
It is hoped the portal will become a job search location of choice for people from across the region who want to investigate a career within the public sector.
It will also be fully mobile phone-enabled, allowing jobseekers to register for free text alerts to their mobile phones.
