Resurfacing work for Coton Hill¸ Shrewsbury

Essential works to repair the worn out road surface on Coton Hill in Shrewsbury will be carried out on Sunday 30 March and Sunday 6 April.

In order for this work to be carried out safely, Coton Hill will need to be closed on 30 March. Works on 6 April will be carried out under stop/go signing to minimise any disruption.

Whilst this road is closed traffic will be diverted along Castle Foregate, St. Michael's Street, Ditherington Road, Whitchurch Road, Harlescott Lane, Ellesmere Road and vice versa.

Due to the low bridge at Cross Street, high-sided vehicles will be escorted through the works. Access to all properties including businesses will be maintained.

Dave Mansfield, Shropshire County Council’s highway technician, said: “I’d like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience these works may cause. Businesses along this route will of course remain open as usual.”
