Reminder about Whitchurch's new register office

Whitchurch residents are being reminded about the new location of the town’s registration service point.

In March 2007 the office - which had been located for many years in Lucas Butters Rushton Solicitors, 29 St Mary's Street - moved to its new location within The Talbot Centre, Shakespeare Way, Whitchurch Business Park.

However, many residents are still visiting Lucas Butters Rushton Solicitors – only to discover that the registration service point is no longer based there.

Karen Burton, Business Service Manager with Shropshire County Council’s registration service, said: “Our Whitchurch office moved almost a year ago, to a location which offers better parking facilities, IT connections and disabled access than we had in St Mary’s Street.

“However, it seems many customers are still unaware of the move and we are therefore doing all we can to remind people about our new location.”

The Whitchurch registration service point in The Talbot Centre is open on Monday from 12noon to 3.30pm, and on Wednesday and Friday from 10.00am to 1.30pm.

An appointment is required to register a birth or death, or to give notice of a marriage or Civil Partnership at any of Shropshire’s registration service points. Appointments can be made by calling 0845 678 9016.
