Harlescott Park & Ride re-launch

Press release - 11 May 2007

Shropshire County Council, working in partnership with Shrewsbury & Atcham Borough Council, is getting ready to re-launch the much improved Harlescott Park & Ride scheme later this month (Tuesday 22 May).

The site, recently relocated due to the building of the new Tesco store, now boasts new toilet facilities, CCTV, improved lighting and additional car parking spaces.

To celebrate this launch both Shropshire County Council and Shrewsbury & Atcham Borough Council are offering a buy-one-get-one-free deal. Every paying customer that travels on Harlescott Park & Ride on the re-launch day will receive a voucher entitling them to an additional free return journey redeemable before 31 July. To take advantage of this offer people can pick up a voucher from the bus driver when they travel on the day.

Looking forward to opening the new site, John Everall, Cabinet member for environment, said: “Park & Ride is a great way to visit the town without the worry and the cost of parking.”

“The return fare of just £1 demonstrates excellent value for money and we hope these new facilities will help to encourage more and more people to use this service.”
