Amendments to Ludlow parking scheme - views sought

Shropshire County Council is encouraging people to have their say about amendments to the Ludlow parking scheme, following its recent extensive consultation.

These amendments take into consideration the views expressed by local people, traders and members.

Modifications to the proposals include:

1. The maximum stay for parking in the pay and display spaces in the Red Zone will be three hours and the parking tariff for these spaces will be:

Up to 30 minutes – 10p
Up to one hour – 50p
Up to two hours - £1.00
Up to three hours - £2.00
Parking over three hours will not be allowed

2. Quality Square is included in the Red Zone.

If people would like to make any comments, representations or observations regarding these, they can write to Hugh Dannatt, Shropshire County Council’s group manager for traffic engineering at:

Alternatively, people can email their comments to traffic.engineering@shropshire.gov.uk

The deadline for these comments is Friday 30 November.

Hugh Dannatt, Shropshire County Council’s group manager for traffic engineering, said: “In order to allow for the necessary time to consider any comments received, and to avoid causing disruption to the town during the busy Christmas period, unfortunately the scheme will not be amended before Christmas. We feel it is extremely important to get this right, so that we can find an acceptable solution for residents and traders in the town.

“We do intend, subject to any representations, to implement changes in January 2008.”
