Shropshire County Council is holding 3 additional Children & Young People’s Services Scrutiny Panel meetings to discuss draft proposals on primary school organisation. These meetings are designed to enable further discussion on this important issue following Cabinet on 28 November, and will give parents and the wider community an important opportunity to consider Cabinet’s decision, and add to the already large body of views expressed by people in Shropshire.
The meetings will be held on:
Thursday 29 November at Shirehall, Shrewsbury at 6.00pm
Wednesday 5 December at Cockshutt Village Hall at 6.30pm
Thursday 6 December at Craven Arms Community Centre at 6.30pm
Roger Evans, Chairman of Children & Young People's Services Scrutiny Panel, said:
“These are public meetings and I welcome anyone to attend. We have received over 1,100 responses to the proposals to date, and it is important that this issue is debated fully, and the community have the opportunity to express their views about future education provision.”
Members of the public can raise a question at the meeting if they notify Shropshire County Council in advance. The deadlines for doing this is 4.00pm on 27 November for the Shirehall meeting, 4.00pm on 3 December for the Cockshutt meeting, and 4.00pm on 4 December for the Craven Arms meeting.
